Afterwords we are going to visit Echoing Sand Mountaion&Crescent Lake(4hrs visiting at least).You can experience Camel riding as the Silk Road Caravan in the next two hrs in the vast desert. Then enjoy the pleasant walking around the Crescent Lake,which has been in existence for hundreds of years without ever being buried by the sand; it is really a geological wonder.
After dinner we would stroll around the Shazhou Night Market, the most bustling place of Dunhuang at night.
Jiayuguan (224kms, 3hrs driving)
In the morning, we will drive to Jiayuguan and visit the Jiayuguan pass(2-3hrs visiting), which is the western end of the Great Wall – This was the last section built by the Ming Dynasty.Jiayuguan is composed of three parts: inner city, outer city and trenches.First pass by Wenchang Pavilion.Next to Wenchang Pavilion is Guan di Temple.There are arrow tower,enemy buildings, corner towers, attics and gate buildings on the wall total 14 buildings.Professional guide will lead you in with detailed and intriguing interpretation.
Have lunch at local restaurant then visit the Weijin Fresco Tombs(3hrs visiting at most), which are ancient tombs of brick paintings dating back 265-420 AD. The wall paintings discovered are lifelike and succinct in style and cover a wide range of subjects including politics, economics, culture, military affairs, folk customs, and science and technology during the Wei and Jin periods. There just open No.6 tomb to tourists for relics protection,which is also the most complete and original one.Professional guide will lead you in with detailed and intriguing interpretation.
