The Yellow Lamassery in Baluntai
Located 18 kilometers to the south of Baluntai Town, Hejing County, built by a Mongol Khan in 1788, the Lamasery is known as “Xia-Re-Sui-Mu” in Mongolian, covering an area of 2,500 square meters. In the main hall of it stands a Buddha 8 meters high. This Lamasery is majestic and all painted in yellow, so it is also commonly called the “Yellow Lamasery”. Now it is listed as major cultural site under the autonomous region protection.
