The Manor of a Landlord in Qiemo
Located in Toghraklik Village, 2.5 kilometers to the northwest Qiemo County seat, the manor was built between 1910 and 1911, covering an area of 3,250 square meters. It includes two parts: dwelling and courtyard. The dwelling consists of an antechamber and a backyard, with a roof of timbers, all built with sun-dried bricks. In the dwelling there is a center hall. Along its four sides runs a raised platform. At its four corners stand octagonal pillars that support a raised roof, with a clerestory opening below to admit light and air. It is a representative building in “Aiwan” type. Now it is listed as a major cultural site under the autonomous region protection.
