On 24 June, 1991, the Chinese and Mongolian governments signed an agreement in Beijing to approve the opening of the Sino-Mongolian border port of Changshu Prefecture: Urastai Port - Beitag Port, which is a national first-class bilateral seasonal open port. On 1992, it is officially opened .
Starting from January 2005, the Urastai Port is open to the port on the 16th to 30th of each year in March, May and September, and is closed for 45 days a year. Residents in the border areas of the two countries can pass the port with border passes.
